Chinese Dumpling
There are lots of frozen dumplings available, but you control all the ingredients if you make them yourself. You can put pretty much anything in, and it's a great activity to involve the kids when time allows. My kids love to make them into pillow shapes, and they eat all the "pillows" they make!

Chinese Dumpling
0.4 lb ground pork 1/2 cup minced mushroom 2 Tbsp frozen chopped spinach, defrosted 1 Tbsp soy sauce 1 tsp sesame oil 1 package round dumpling wraps Some water for sealing wraps, and 4 cups of water for boiling
For dipping sauce: 1 Tbsp soy sauce 1/2 tsp black vinegar A few drops sesame oil to taste (optional) 1 tsp chili garlic sauce
1. Mix together meat, vegetables, soy sauce, and sesame oil; set aside. 2. Place one wrap on the palm of your left hand, and place a round teaspoon of the meat mixture in the center of the wrap. 3. Dab some water around the edge of the wrap, fold the wrap in half, form as desired but make sure you seal tightly. 4. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 until all the meat mixture is gone. 5. Put 4 cups of water in a big pot and bring to a boil. 6. Add dumplings to the boiling water, and stir immediately to prevent the dumplings from sticking to the bottom of the pot. Bring back to a boil and boil for a couple of minutes. 7. Drain water and serve as is or with the dipping sauce.
