Coffee Cake
Yesterday was Mother’s day in the US. We had our friends over for brunch. There were many good dishes on the table, and I will try to put all the recipes on this site. I made this coffee cake and it turned out really well. I don’t know why they called it coffee cake because the cake doesn’t have any coffee in it. Anyway, I like to share with all of you. This recipe came from Simple Classic, The Junior League of Seattle.

Coffee Cake
2 cups flour 1 cup sugar 1 cup buttermilk 2/3 cup butter 1/2 cup brown sugar 2 eggs 2 tbsp dry milk powder 1 tbsp cinnamon 1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt For Topping
1/2 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup walnuts 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg 1/4 cup butter (melted, put on top before baking)
You prepare this the night before, and bake it in the next morning. In an electric mixer bowl, put all the cake ingredients and mix with slow speed until it’s well mixed. Grease your baking pan and put the mixed cake in the pan. Mix the dry topping ingredients together and put on top of the cake evenly. Put the cake in a refrigerator overnight. In the morning, preheat the oven to 350. Drizzle the melted butter on top of the cake, and bake the cake until it’s done, approximately 30 -45 min. Cool for 15 min. before serve. Nice when it is still warm.
