Ingredients and Recipe Instructions


Prune Cake

2/3 cup shortening
2 1/2 cup sifted cake flour
1 1/2 cup sugar
3 fully ripe bananas
2 eggs
1 cup pitted cooked prunes chopped
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup milk
1/2 cup nutmeats

Stir shortening to soften. Sift all dry ingredients. Add mashed bananas and half of milk. Mix 2 minutes. Add eggs and remaining milk. Beat 2 minutes. Fold in prunes and nuts.

Bake 45 minutes at 350F.
